One time I felt so nauseous and shaky that I ran to the nearest shop and bought a large chocolate bar, instantly felt better.
I know some people who can’t eat after a workout. Some people don’t eat before a workout and are fine.
If you’re training really hard, weight lifting and cardio then you need sugar after or during a workout especially if it’s a long workout.
Protein after a workout will build muscle, but don’t leave out muscle repair, especially for a beginner who isn’t used to to workout eating cherries help repair damage muscle fast 😊

Eat protein before your workout as well this is why you’re not hitting your protein goals.
