I always loved lifting. After getting ill, then injured, I lost about 15kg of weight in a few months, mostly muscle, and couldn’t do anything that used my knee for almost a year. By the time it was fixed, I couldn’t get back into the gym, even though I really wanted to get back into it.

In the end, I just went 3-4 days a week, and just did bench press and bicep curls, just shit I like doing. After a couple weeks, I was back in the habit of going, and started reintroducing a proper program, and haven’t stopped lifting again since.

    Lol “Hate works great.”

  6. @shackelfrdace69 on May 19, 2025 at 12:01 am

For me, less motivation in the gym means i’m over training and need to make my workouts less intense and/or decrease volume

  7. @brycethoreson9216 on May 19, 2025 at 12:05 am

Being able to lift with you would definitely help with motivation.

  8. @TIMMY_V11 on May 19, 2025 at 12:05 am

You make that shit look easy bro!

  9. @WhoIsGoLDENRaTi0 on May 19, 2025 at 12:07 am

I really resonated with the hate part at the end 😅

  10. @brogrammer1995 on May 19, 2025 at 12:08 am

LMAO "hate works great, try looking thru ur girls phone"

  11. @UnevenScales on May 19, 2025 at 12:10 am

Hate is a fuel. Temporary fuel, but fuel nonetheless.

  12. @kriskilo6382 on May 19, 2025 at 12:12 am

Or just take the week off if you are losing motivation cause you feel beat up its hard but the week off Is worth it you come back stronger and recovered and can’t wait to get back into the gym.

As for someone who struggles with sever depression, I lost the motivation to bodybuild and cook last year (my only two passions.) This was only because I lost my passion to be alive, so I didn’t see a need to do anything. In this past year l recognized what’s truly important in life and the depression is starting is starting to ease away. I am currently injured, but I have so much motivation to bodybuild, but can’t. My depression has changed from not wanting to do my passions. To not being able to do my passions. Life always has a way of humbling you.

thigs that help me with motivation ……. 1 squat till you puke then add 5 more reps
2 deadlift your one rep max during the busiest time of the day, some one will come up to you and remind you that you’re a beast and if you don’t have a respectable deadlift well, that’s your motivation
3 grab a hand full of your stomach, yea all of those donuts did that to you, now its time to work them off
4 ask one of the biggest most motivated dudes in the gym for guidance, its not about how big you are to us its about personal progress, and unless you give up on your self we wont, you’ll feel like a train hit you after your done but that’s a good thing,
5 to experience nervous system fatigue, its a truly awesome experience and you’ll miss it once its gone, ha ha im addicted to my brains happy chemical
    6 because YEA BUDDY
and last but not least because it aint nothin but a peanut
    and remember
every body wants to be a body builder aint no one want to move no heavy ass weight

Started lifting for my mental health, and havent stopped since

  17. @jeanpaul8854 on May 19, 2025 at 12:16 am

If you have to look through your girls phone, then you should probably get motivated over the fact that you’re insecure and need to stop being a shell of a person. 🤷‍♂️

  18. @MaxViolinYay on May 19, 2025 at 12:17 am

do you use knee sleeves even during deload weeks and/or warm up sets?

  19. @megapet777 on May 19, 2025 at 12:17 am

For me the problem is I don’t have a car. I actually want to go to the gym but the distance is the problem :/. So not motivated to go as often as I should

  20. @jarde1989 on May 19, 2025 at 12:19 am

Take a week or two off

Then come back and get over those silly feelings

How long did it take you to find your bar path? It’s essentially perfected now.

  23. @herrar6595 on May 19, 2025 at 12:20 am

    Hate works great

  24. @reformedzoomer on May 19, 2025 at 12:21 am

Thus far I’m enjoying lifting so much I honestly can’t stand the off days where I just do cardio. Buuttt I’m trying to make gains here so I deal with it.

  25. @leonhard4744 on May 19, 2025 at 12:23 am

Lmao that silence after the last sentence

  26. @vilgothogberg4108 on May 19, 2025 at 12:26 am

i trashed all the exercises i hated and it is easier being consistent now and i feel like i am progressing faster that way

  27. @nzt-48gaming45 on May 19, 2025 at 12:27 am

The sensation of squat plug during heavy session motivates me.

  28. @Свободадляроссии on May 19, 2025 at 12:27 am

Just hatred and rage are amazing for lifting. You get a few kilos more out of every exercise.

  29. @tariqo16 on May 19, 2025 at 12:27 am

It’s funny how lifting is fun to me I don’t even need a motivation for it I just love doing and it’s been like that since the beginning and I hope it stays like that forever

  30. @nuaphonkmetal on May 19, 2025 at 12:27 am

When you feel like giving up, just remember why you started and what your goal was.

    And quit after that.

  31. @hepy4992 on May 19, 2025 at 12:29 am

There’s also the factor of fatigue

  34. @pauldillingham6316 on May 19, 2025 at 12:35 am

Not being able to train because of a pandemic works very well. I wasn’t able to train for over a year because of the pandemic and I really missed it.

  35. @setaripantheon8801 on May 19, 2025 at 12:35 am

    Oh!
    Big squats
    Small brians
    Still face diaper
    Verdict: 🐑

  36. @sophovot5079 on May 19, 2025 at 12:36 am

I’d say if you’ve really lost motivation and don’t enjoy lifting anymore, just do something else. Join a basketball team or something.

  37. @umbreonamvs9927 on May 19, 2025 at 12:37 am

Hate works great. I assure you that’s true. My workout yesterday was way better than it usually is just because I was pissed at someone mid gym session.

  38. @Britsout4429 on May 19, 2025 at 12:41 am

Holy shit that last line lol

  39. @IamBroot.-wi2qw on May 19, 2025 at 12:41 am

    "Hate works great."

You just nailed the reason I’ve been working out consistantly since the beginning of the year.

Once you learn to enjoy hurting yourself worse than the world can hurt you, you become addicted to the pain.

  40. @casz7098 on May 19, 2025 at 12:42 am

I feel a little sick today and didn’t want to workout. I compromised by going to the park to do 4 supersets of pullups and push ups with no rest in between. Got a really good pump in a very short amount of time and it still took quite a bit of effort. Will get back on the day after tomorrow.

  41. @jmeha6091 on May 19, 2025 at 12:43 am

    Ok, I’ll go with hate.

Jesus loves you, He’s coming back soon

  44. @Professionalpatternrecognizer on May 19, 2025 at 12:44 am

I usually start by dropping out accessories for a few weeks since the thing that kills my drive is dreading doing multiple movements and spending a large amount of time in the gym. If that doesn’t work or life gets busy I’ve been known to take large quantities of time completely off from lifting(2-5 months). When I get back to it I feel refreshed, fall in love with lifting again, and my lifts are back up to where they were within 4-6 weeks. By 8-10 weeks into that new block I’m setting PBs.

  45. @zohaib183 on May 19, 2025 at 12:44 am

I used to love going but now they’re packed with people with lineups just to get in 😢

  46. @BarnJ on May 19, 2025 at 12:44 am

  47. @overpoweredjelly3513 on May 19, 2025 at 12:45 am

    Discipline > Motivation .

Motivation is something temporary , but discipline lasts forever

  48. @terkelalgevind529 on May 19, 2025 at 12:45 am

I told myself that if I wanna smoke weed I gotta grow beef.
And I did. I take a few tokes, workout high intesity high rep calisthenics 30-40 minutes.. toke some more and workout again…

  49. @revelry2133 on May 19, 2025 at 12:45 am

Thx today was one of my weaker days because I messed up my left rotator cuff and it also made my workout quite a bit worse when it came to meeting hypertrophy

  50. @gymboundduelistygo2569 on May 19, 2025 at 12:47 am

Honestly I enjoy working out that I go Monday-Friday. I get sad and bored that I have to take Saturday-Sunday off but hey I get to grind chest tmwr 🙂
