Are you struggling to breathe while running? Running breathlessness is very common for beginner runners. Health professionals who specialise in breath retraining say that non-elite athletes can benefit immensely from breathing exercises and can expect to see results in 2 weeks by doing respiratory muscle training for 5 minutes per day. hey brodie, I hope you see this comment. love the content you provide, but I got asthma since childhood. this affected me in very negativity ways. I always wanted to be a boxer, but my asthma always stopped me. I hope you could suggest me some breathing exercises that cures my asthma and helps me to pursue my dreams. I am a nose breather since past 3-4 months but didn’t notice any drastic improvement. BTW amazing content and i hope your channel grows more.

We should inhale through nose & exhale through nose or mouth , mouth breathing hurts a lot i felt while running, but nose breathing really difficult

  4. @clairesiegel5238 on August 11, 2025 at 7:03 am

My score is 10s. I’m a triathlete who’s been training at least 10hr for the last 4 years. I’m not that bad, i won races but my running is really bad and it’s always my lungs that give out first during interval training.

  5. @iLoveInwards on August 11, 2025 at 7:04 am

What do you mean by urge to breathe?

  6. @FaloForlan on August 11, 2025 at 7:06 am

    😂😂😂I’m holding 27

  7. @honkymonkey9568 on August 11, 2025 at 7:07 am

The test is stupid. We all have a continuous urge to breathe after about 2 seconds, or we wouldn’t.

  8. @James-m7m3x on August 11, 2025 at 7:07 am

I struggle to breathe in a bleep test, so unfortunately I can’t slow down

Wow I got 37 seconds on the bolt test and can inhale hold my breath for 1:24 , but i really struggle to breath while running …. im talking close to 6:45 per km for 3km bad . During a 3km run i usually need to walk for about 150 meters per kilometer as I get so out of breath . Maybe I am going to fast but when I slow down enough to not have to walk my time gets even worse . Form might be off ….gotta watch the rest of the video now

  19. @iimecho on August 11, 2025 at 7:18 am

lmao, im trying to figure out why when im running i feel so overwhelmed, i can feel my heart beating soo fast and i can feel the pressure in my chest, i can feel my heart pushing every beat, i dont know why, ive been doing a lot of sea diving, without compressed air, just holding breath almost 80% of my life, i can comfortably hold my breath for longer than a minute, if i try hard enough i can hold it for 2 mins, my problem is that when im running it doesnt matter how many times i inhale it never feels like i inhaled enough air, feels like my nose is too small for my lungs

  20. @Grinch-GT on August 11, 2025 at 7:19 am

Does asthma have anything to do with my BOLT score?

  43. @James-semaJ on August 11, 2025 at 7:46 am

Mate, you’re looking at yourself on your screen, rather that at the lense. It’s annoying.

  44. @MelieSue on August 11, 2025 at 7:47 am

10 seconds and I about passed out lol

  45. @mmo4754 on August 11, 2025 at 7:48 am

I got like 35 seconds and literally I just sit at my desk all day

  46. @sagnorm1863 on August 11, 2025 at 7:50 am

I got a question for you. Why would the human body evolve to need all this breath training? Shouldn’t proper breathing be instinctual while running?

I believe that simply putting time into running will automatically make you breathe properly. In other words, this video might be useless.

It would be like making a video about how to eat properly. Or how to walk.

  47. @GxgxhZhzj on August 11, 2025 at 7:53 am

I can hold my breath for 2:30 seconds it’s because during swimming i use to hold my breath under water but while running a mile run after 800 meters it’s almost impossible for me to control my breathing idk what to do it’s been a month i am practicing but couldn’t complete 1 mile in 7 minutes 😢

  48. @DaveSebanes-r4t on August 11, 2025 at 7:54 am

you literally made us empty our lungs before the test. if our lungs are empty we will have the urge to breath very soon anyway
