3 Supplements You Should NEVER take | Dr. Janine

In this video, Dr. Janine shares three supplements you should NEVER take. She talks about how folic acid is synthetically made, look for folate. She looks at synthetic vitamin C usually made from genetically modified corn; looks for vitamin C from berries. She explains how synthetic B-complex supplements are typically derived from the petrochemical industry. If someone has a Dr. in front of their name and try to tell you NOT to “supplement” with supplements that actually work, run and don’t look back!

What about a high quality B Complex that only uses the best, most bioavailable, forms of the B Vitamins?
(Like from Thorne or other high quality brands.)

I’m with you. If it is NOT natural, aka. Chemical derived out of petrol, it can’t be good.

  21. @CAPT.BULLET on April 7, 2025 at 9:03 pm

Almost all people ascorbic and folic acid is a scientific name of vitamin C and folate but the truth is it is synthetic of those vitamins it is man made that they just duplicate the composition of the molecule inside the real vitamins

  22. @Joleen86 on April 7, 2025 at 9:04 pm

So why do OBGYN’s suggest folic acid when trying to conceive?

  23. @metroplex3k on April 7, 2025 at 9:06 pm

the ONLY questions she responds to, are those involving a link for which she has a financial kickback – all other concerns and questions are ignored…… lowest human form – worse than a politician!

  24. @user-uc5tc1yp9e on April 7, 2025 at 9:06 pm

How is folic acid synthetic if it is found in leafy greens, liver, orange juice, lentils, beans, and yeast?

  25. @rainynight02 on April 7, 2025 at 9:07 pm

  27. @celliot9958 on April 7, 2025 at 9:09 pm

TAKE WHOLE FOODS SUPPLEMENTS AND DON’T TAKE SYNTHETIC SUPPLEMENTS. AND IT IS DIFFICULT TO FIND WHOLE FOOD SUPPLEMENTS THAT DON’T HAVE OTHER BAD INGREDIANTS.

  28. @venician2face on April 7, 2025 at 9:11 pm

If you know the vitamin industry from the inside out, then you must know that nearly all vitamins found in all "daily" vitamin capsules (including folic acid) are synthetic and derived through industrial chemistry. The question that should be asked and answered for each individual vitamin is, does it function like the natural version or have a detrimental effects not caused by the natural version. You and other experts may know the answers but precious little information is being shared with the public. You may be doing a disservice by implying that synthetic vitamins are bad.

  29. @LoopBackAddress on April 7, 2025 at 9:16 pm

I highly doubt your content about vitamins that you are mentioning here.

Every vitamins that you have mentioned are included in most multivitamin supplements, I personally contacted some prominent companies who make multivitamin such as Vitabiotics , which is one of the most popular supplement company in the UK and they explained me in depth that all their vitamins are carefully formulated at recommended levels and how they are made by experts and saying they do strictly follow the regulatory bodies of the Health authorities.

  30. @PaulClarey on April 7, 2025 at 9:17 pm

We live in a synthetically-derived world! For example: hair dye, nail polish, shampoos and conditioners, plastic pens, melamine and plastic white boards, and textile dyes. The list is endless.

  31. @tanveerbabar8591 on April 7, 2025 at 9:18 pm

    Good videos

  32. @ovigada on April 7, 2025 at 9:19 pm

Bioniq supplement company says they include these items in many of their products. I sent this video of you and I’m waiting for them to show how these items are good for human consumption.

  35. @rachelconradie8480 on April 7, 2025 at 9:23 pm

No offense dear Doctor but your advice is terrible. Most doctors have zero knowledge on nutrition, and you really expect us to follow your reccomendatiin with no alternatives given??????

  48. @MissBabalu102 on April 7, 2025 at 9:39 pm

I have Folic Acid, (from Walgreens) and on the Amount per serving on the back, it says Folate 1333mg DFE (800mcg folic acid), and also Calcium 81mg. So, why is that? The ingredients don’t mention any petroleum product.

  49. @RealSimsHouse on April 7, 2025 at 9:39 pm

That first one, my doc prescribed to me for my first pregnancy. After that all my pre-natal vitamins all had it, it said its good for baby brain development & can be naturally gotten in oranges.
