Why pre-workout is bad for you #shorts

Let’s talk about pre-workout supplements. As an athlete, I know the appeal of taking caffeine before a workout – it helps you feel more alert, focused, and capable of pushing yourself harder. However, the truth is that in the long run, pre-workout supplements can actually do more harm than good. Studies have shown that excessive caffeine intake can lead to decreased performance, reduced muscle strength, and even irregular heart rhythms. Scary, right? Have you had any experiences with pre-workout supplements? How much caffeine do you consume daily? Share your thoughts in the comments below – let’s start a conversation about healthy and sustainable ways to fuel our workouts!” #preworkout #caffeine #fitness #workoutfuel #healthylifestyle

I play basketball and I also use Pre Workout before every 2-hour long session, in addition to daily Creatine. From what I experience, my muscles Strength were indeed stronger, I was more explosive at the beginning, but one only has so much stamina. This combination of caffeinated preworkout + Creatine burns through your energy storage so quickly that past 30 mins, the game becomes draining really fast. So every game that I get subbed out, I immediately try to go into zen mode to get as much stamina back as possible. I think I will keep the Creatine since it helps my lifting session, but maybe switch out the Pre Workout for non-stimulant ones to lower my power output by a small margin so I can maintain higher rhythm games for longer.

She’s not wrong. I used pre workout twice and the 2nd time I took it I had to leave the gym early due to me feeling like I couldn’t breath and was going to pass out. Went to the ER and haven’t been feeling right since. This just happened on 5/23

I make my own pre-workout stack. I’m an overweight old guy who is trying to lose weight by adding more protein into my diet (via Vega Sport) and the combination of aminos I’ve put together. There is no caffeine in my pre-workout stack. It consists of BCAA and a bunch of other aminos.

I was told that adding Essential Amino Acids with the mix can help. So I use Amino Energy to provide those.

I’m no expert on this, but I don’t think she knows what she’s talking about based on our metabolism of each of these aminos. I do know about loading followed by a standard dose of say Creatine Monohydrate. BodyBuilding article "Is Creatine Bad For you?"says Creatine is safe

  44. @jeanoosthuizen5935 on June 11, 2025 at 2:32 am

I only take pre workout, 4 times a week when j work out, 200-300mg. Dont do coffee, or any other source of caffeine (energy drinks). I never go above 400mg a day and therefore there is NO HARM for me to take pre workout. The benefits far outweigh the risks. Cant make a video with such a strong opinion without context. Every persons lifestyle is differe and ill NEVER workout without pre workout.

  45. @SimulacronX on June 11, 2025 at 2:32 am

I’ll never touch pre-workout powders ever again. Just having one cup of a good coffee. Generally one or two cups of coffee per day.

  46. @Jiggysayso on June 11, 2025 at 2:35 am

Nha. I just work out, like actually… and not just for 30 mins. like 3 hours, sometimes 5. Most if not every person I see works out for no longer than an hour and not even every day & drink pre workout EVERY TIME. In MY opinion, at that point you could probably just cut out the pre workout & spend a little more time in the gym. I’ve done many trials & my most recent trail has been a 14 day workout every day for more than 2 hours each day & I’ve gained about 10 pounds of muscle and significant muscle growth with no pre workout, no protein powder & I don’t eat the healthiest either, but I also run a mile every day and do not smoke, drink or vape. but to each their own. Cheers. No pain No gain! & Great video!

  47. @acktionjackson666 on June 11, 2025 at 2:37 am

So what if I just have a coffee? Is that bad for me before my workout?

  48. @andkyrmar on June 11, 2025 at 2:39 am

So it’s about caffeine, not pre workout supply. You need to be more scientific in your approach.

  49. @ChefBacan on June 11, 2025 at 2:40 am
