Today, I will cover some interesting new concepts about water and its ability to hydrate your cells.

Water gets into your cells through small channels with help from electrolytes. A dehydrated cell has an imbalance of electrolytes and fluid, not just a lack of water. If you drink too much water, you can dilute certain electrolytes and become dehydrated.

Water is important, but we don’t get hydrated just from water. When you’re not thirsty and force yourself to drink a lot of water, this can cause various issues, especially if you exercise.

Other liquids like coffee, tea, soda, alcohol, and fruit juice can deplete your electrolytes and cause you to become dehydrated. Sports drinks may also cause more weight gain than soda. Even certain electrolyte powders contain a lot of sugar.

A good principle is to drink when you’re thirsty and don’t force yourself to drink too much. It’s also essential to get all of the electrolytes and avoid things that can deplete your electrolytes.

Keep in mind, if you’re prone to kidney stones, you should drink at least 2.5 liters of fluid with electrolytes every day.

As much as I appreciate your great knowledge and insights regarding human health and working so hard compiling these videos, I love them all, however, please remember that a human mind is incapable of storing every information that’s compiled in longer durations of these videos. Try keeping the videos in shorter durations and just give bullet points pros and cons only. This method will definitely help us learn – and more so, remember every hint and tip. Thank you 😊

i found it interesting that he provided two different study results about the sugary drinks from the Nurse’s Health Study 11:

"the study found that if a teenager or young adult was consuming at least 1 soda a day, they would have an extra pound of weight." then immediately goes on to say "teenagers that consume one soda a day, on a regular basis, gained an additional 2 pounds a day." then said those who drink the sports drinks, with added sugar, gained 3 1/2 pounds of fat extra on their bodies.

what he failed to mention was that this study only included women and also the time period for the weight gain. here’s the AI summary from Google about the study, specifically about the sugary drinks and weight gain correlation:

The Nurses’ Health Study (NHS) and the Health Professionals’ Follow-up Study (HPFS) have both found that drinking sugary drinks is associated with weight gain, type 2 diabetes, and cardiovascular disease.
    Weight gain

The NHS has found that drinking more sugary drinks is associated with weight gain.

One study found that drinking one additional 12-ounce serving of a sugary drink per day was associated with a 0.20-kg (about half a pound) higher body weight in one year.

I started making hibiscus tea by the gallon. I rarely crave water, but I DO crave the tea (cold) ALL DAY LONG, and it has health benefits (like iron, antioxidant, vitamin C). Also, I have switched to sea salt.

Nurse advice was to drink Gatorade after low sodium blood test results. Suggested tok much water. Problem I get too hot and need water and drink water for indigestion, and if short of breath or exhausted, it helps.

I drank a gallon of water a day for 30 days, and the skin on my face was unbelievably soft and smooth. This was not a sustainable practice, though. I stay plenty hydrated without that much water.

  16. @rwdchannel2901 on March 25, 2025 at 7:45 pm

Recently there have been many articles I’ve seen online saying to drink 8 glasses of milk a day. This is crazy. I couldn’t imagine trying to drink 8 glasses of water and 8 glasses of milk a day.

I put salt on my food and I’m generous with it. I don’t usually add it to water. When I did the 41 hour water fast I was only drinking ginger water I woke up in morning temp went up got dizzy didn’t know what was going on. Had to eat chocolate and honey before I felt better.

I oxygenate and had hydrogen to filtered water. Then I add a cap of ACV. Plain water tastes bland to me now. My everyday beverage is coconut water with a splash of lime juice topped with plain club soda. Super hydrating

  22. @Hypnotic-Valentino on March 25, 2025 at 7:50 pm

From what I see the majority of people does not need to be alarmed to drink less water, so this gives the complete wrong message. It’s like warning from anorexia while the populations problem is obesity – but then this is what we have seen talking about the last 10 years and even billboards got replaced showing obese instead of slim people.

  23. @hlayinmon3666 on March 25, 2025 at 7:51 pm

Thru my mid life I was so occupied, non-stop, with house and office chores, I never drank a cup of water, throughout the whole day (no time for the toilet really). I just drank a cup or two of coffee only. Looking back I don’t know how my body kept going. But later I had renal stones and after menopause I suffer from severe hot flushes that I no longer could keep a job and the renal stones are troubling on and off, will it weaken the kidneys, I worry now.

  24. @k9nick on March 25, 2025 at 7:52 pm

    Just look at your pea.

If it’s dark, drink. If it’s like water, back off. Nice golden showers

My hubby says I don’t drink enough, but I can’t force myself to drink if I’m not thirsty. Never have. I only drink when I’m thirsty. He drinks tons of tea and coffee and can’t work out why his sleep isn’t good 🙄

In the past people drank beer, because water wasn’t safe to drink. Maybe we should return to drinking beer.
