COMPRESSION GEAR FOR RUNNING – Is it worth it?

COMPRESSION GEAR FOR RUNNING – Is it worth it?

Compression gear for running is worn by many. But, is it worth it?

Compression gear has been a part of my running wardrobe for many years and I have found it to have a number of benefits.

That being said most of the reported benefits of compression gear have not been inconclusively proven to be fact by science.

Some of the compression gear benefits that people experience are as follows:

-Increased comfort, breathability, flexibility.
-Increased blood flow to muscles which improves athletic performance.
-Injury prevention
-Reduced DOMS.

So, is compression gear worth it? And in particular, is compression gear good for runners?

I’ve some compression gear, mainly use it as base layer in colder weather. I’ve got a couple of Sub sports tops: one vest one long sleeve – great value and REALLY tight fitting, my wife has to peel me out of them if it’s been raining. I’ve also got Under Amour shorts and tights, put the shorts on recently and the waist band folded over at my gut 😆 think I need to get out running more. I think they help on long runs of 10 miles plus for me. Gave this vid a thumbs up on the intro, good work made me smile 😁

do you wear underwear under the compression shorts?

I love it, I wish skins would make a one piece full body suit. I would wear it all the time at home for recovery.

I’ve been curious about compression gear for a while.. I’ve had them in the cart a few times and always bail. May have to give some a shot! Have a great weekend Peter.

I’m a big fan of it to be honest. Except when it gives me ringbsting 😂

I wear compression socks to reduce edema in my ankles and calves.
The compression shorts are to keep the 🍆 secure.

I mean if you have stiff muscles like myself.

Regardless what you do. Found about compression when my blood kept on pooling into my feet and felt lightheaded.

Tippy toed into it via Compression Socks at 20-25mmhg.

=> oh wow, it actually worked.

=> ordered compression tights at 20-30 mmhg rated because my thighs were heavy.

=> I got it yesterday and the measure in difference in vertical jump is roughly 20%.

This only applies if you have stiff muscles that cramps regardless.

Vertical Jump without compression: 21 inches

Vertical Jump with compression: 28 inches.

Specifically 2XU MCS tech. Only thing is that there’s no pocket :’).

Great review! I think your video could benefit from balancing the audio levels a bit — your voice audio is quite low compared to the music that is pretty loud.
