Great suggestions. I do the same, but instead of the bun I use one of those large purple curlers to roll the pony tail. After my shower, I take it down and have ringlet curls and body to my hair. I can either leave it down with a side part or make a curly messy bun.

  15. @lpgilber on August 6, 2025 at 7:01 am

I work out and don’t really worry about washing my hair all the time. I also don’t use that as not an excuse not to exercise. I believe in health over hair.

  16. @jardy348 on August 6, 2025 at 7:02 am

I respect the advice and tips to care for your relaxed hair but in my humble opinion referring to your natural texture or new growth in a negative (“gnarly”, “crazy”) as oppose to neutral way is disappointing….especially on this public platform…your words matter and it would be unfortunate for a young women of color to feel that the coils on her head are “crazy” or “gnarly”, reaffirming a cycle of self hate. It’s ok to prefer one texture over the other but avoid negativity please. Otherwise great tips for black hair care in general…proper hair care whether you are relaxed or natural is so important in our community.

I just started playing sports heavily, I sweat a lot in practice to the point where it super wet. How do I maintain a healthy lifestyle while having relaxed hair thats not sweated out. How do it still look nice if you are sweating a lot everyday while having relaxed hair. How do you maintain relaxed hair as an athlete?

  31. @LoveleePhotography on August 6, 2025 at 7:22 am

Late to the party, but such a perfect video for me. I am a huge sweater, love my straight hair and have recently started to struggle with what to do with my hair since switching to midday workouts. Great tips!!

  34. @tenia2743 on August 6, 2025 at 7:26 am

Thanks for this video! How frequently do you work out?

  35. @LifeofDayy on August 6, 2025 at 7:26 am

Have you considered the ribbon elastics hair ties? I absolutely love them! They tie pretty tight but without all of that damaging reflexive tension. I get a bag of 100 black ones on Amazon for 10 bucks. Just search for “Kenz Laurenz ribbon hair ties” on Amazon. The only drawback I’d say is that they lose their tension and “wear out” more quickly but they’re so affordable and for me that’s a fine trade off for virtually zero damage.

    Nice muscle woman

  37. @TamTam79340 on August 6, 2025 at 7:27 am

What to you recommend for ladies that have neck length relaxed hair that can’t pull hair in a ponytail

  38. @stranraer9 on August 6, 2025 at 7:28 am

you should do a little flexing and posing for this section of your videos

  39. @taneshawright6397 on August 6, 2025 at 7:30 am

Hello! I have a question about coloring hair. So I have a few grays in my bangs and I would like to dye them but I work out regularly and waiting the recommended 3 Days doesn’t work for me. Do you think it’s ok to dye our hair after it dries?

  40. @jayeleee on August 6, 2025 at 7:30 am

I needed this. Newly relaxed again and working out is lowkey a tough one while relaxed lol! Not as bad as when I was natural tho and getting silk presses đŸ˜‚â€

  41. @sherrystephens6173 on August 6, 2025 at 7:30 am

    Awesome video!

  44. @nicolefisher4779 on August 6, 2025 at 7:34 am

I sweat in the middle of my head that’s my biggest concern. Any tips?

  45. @taneshawright6397 on August 6, 2025 at 7:36 am

Do you think it’s ok to relax your hair a couple of hours after working out?

  46. @yenoak9730 on August 6, 2025 at 7:37 am

    Helpful video!

  47. @tanelise4673 on August 6, 2025 at 7:39 am

Good tips. I sweat profusely and have to get the sweat off my head. I can’t stand it. Sweat contains lactic acid and can dry the hair if left on too long and can cause hair loss as well.

  48. @Giggles50 on August 6, 2025 at 7:40 am

I am also a complete sweat pig LOL Thank you for the tips.

  49. @maried5486 on August 6, 2025 at 7:41 am

Great tips I’m definitely going to try some of these.

  50. @joaris333 on August 6, 2025 at 7:44 am

Pause. Are you Haitian? I stopped moisturizing and sealing my hair while watching your video when you said "L’huile". I’m Haitian and I was like wait lol that pronunciation was AUTHENTIC.
